About Tunga Waakye Special

The bustling ambiance near the unnamed thoroughfares of Accra subtly frames the experience at Tunga Waakye Special, where the aroma of carefully spiced waakye permeates the air. Patrons drawn by word-of-mouth often glance at vibrant photos before ordering, curious about how the local flavors translate from image to palate. The blend of traditional Ghanaian dishes with reliably hearty portions reflects a balance between authenticity and satisfying hunger, though the casual setting means seating can be limited during peak times.

Consistency emerges as a notable trait when scanning various Tunga Waakye Special reviews, especially regarding the signature waakye rice paired with an array of accompaniments such as boiled eggs, shito sauce, and fried fish. The menu offers an assortment that might please both newcomers and regulars, though some dishes occasionally vary in spice level, suggesting subtle shifts in preparation. The simplicity of the presentation pairs well with the robust flavors, underpinning a dining experience that centers on comfort and familiarity above fancy plating or complex culinary experiments.

Efficiency in service often matches the straightforward cuisine, with servers managing steady crowds despite the sometimes haphazard flow of orders. Value seems to be a crucial factor for many patrons, with large portions commanding modest prices that reflect the local dining landscape. While snapshots capture the colorful variety of waakye combinations available, it’s the genuine, no-frills approach of this restaurant that fosters a reliable appeal, making repeat visits a common thread among customer feedback.

Waakye was spicy and sweet. Food was ok for the price. No oil spilled when I received the food. The delivery guy was so polite and patient. Nevertheless, delivery took an hour. It was surely worth the wait tho. Pls patronise them.

This joint is one of the most unassuming waakye spots in Accra. I haven't been disappointed anytime I have gone there. It's definitely worth the distance and time. Tasty and very reasonably priced waakye. Be prepared to spend quite some time as the queue gets really low and the person who serves the food can be quite slow. That waste is definitely value for money.

If you ever wanted your neighbourhood waakye to taste 'bougie', your best bet is Tunga Waakye. I got introduced to it about a year ago and I've been hooked. They give good servings of sauce to go with your waakye (rice and beans)! They deliver too.

I’m in UAE and I was ridding a taxi with a driver from Ghana and he told me the amazing story of the humble & blessed mother who started this business. A believer. May God bless her and her family

The waakye is very tasty and the shito is very nice. However, they do not start selling early as stated and that can be a little frustrating sometimes! But if you live around Dansoman, you should try it! Totally amazing Waakye and one of the best I’ve eaten.

Tunga waakye is very delicious. It's been a go to place for my family growing and we still rely on them for the best Sunday waakye treat.
